Jo supports a Thailand based charity called The Father Ray Foundation.
They have 750 underprivileged children and handicapped young people to feed, clothe and educate 365 days of the year.
The Fr. Ray Foundation is the umbrella organization that manages several social projects in Pattaya, Thailand. Named after Fr. Ray Brennan, an American Redemptorist priest who first founded the Orphanage in the early 1970s, the organization is now home to over 750 people of all ages.
The Orphanage was founded after a baby was left in the care of Fr. Ray.
In the early 80s, a young deaf boy was left at the Orphanage, and being unable to find a local school for him, Fr. Ray opened the School for the Deaf in 1983.
The Redemptorist Vocational School for the Disabled was founded in 1984 with just four students. Fr. Ray wanted to do much more than just give money and food to the disabled street beggars.
The School for the Blind was founded after a young blind child was left at the Orphanage. With there being no school locally specializing in teaching the blind, Fr. Ray opened the school in 1986.
As Pattaya grew in size, so did the number of children living on the street. Unfortunately for many, they became vulnerable to abuse from adults and gangs. In 1990, a Home for Street Kids was built, allowing the children to live, away from the dangers of the streets.
